OHS and risk management for thesis students

As part of your project, you may undertake work in a laboratory. Access to laboratories will not be granted until all inductions are completed and a risk management plan is prepared and approved by your supervisor.

Work or research performed by staff and students must be undertaken in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety guidelines Working safely in the Laboratory.

Your supervisor must know and approve of any activities you propose to undertake in your project work. Do not do anything without their approval.

OH&S Induction and Training Modules

Prior to commencing your project, you should complete a UQ Training Needs Analysis (TNA) to assist you to determine the Occupational Health and Safety training that you require. A TNA must be completed with your Supervisor.

It is mandatory that you complete the General Workplace Safety Induction and Annual Fire Safety Training which are available through Blackboard.
