Join the School of Mechanical and Mining Engineering for Virtual Research Bites 8.0!
This event is for current third, fourth and fifth year students from mechanical, mechatronics, materials, aerospace and mining engineering who are interested in:
- finding out more about the School's areas of research excellence;
- pursuing a higher degree by research (PhD or MPhil);
- exploring options for their final year thesis;
- learning about the value and versatility that a higher degree by research presents.
Event overview
The event will start with a brief introduction from Dr Christopher Leonardi, after which we will hear from three speakers:
- Dr Carolyn Jacobs (Lecturer – UQ School of Mechanical and Mining Engineering)
- Mr Andrew Job (CEO and Founder of plotlogic. PhD student – UQ School of Mechanical and Mining Engineering)
- Mr Kyriakos Tapinou (PhD Student – UQ School of Mechanical and Mining Engineering)
This will be followed by a brief presentation of information specific to thesis enrolment and HDR application. A Q&A panel session with all speakers will then wrap up the central event.
You will then have the opportunity to join a number of focused breakout sessions, where you can meet with the academics from the School’s various Research Centres, learn about their work and opportunities, and ask questions.
