Researcher biography

Dr. Mohammadreza Zare Reisabadi is a postdoctoral research fellow at the School of Mechanical and Mining Engineering.

Reza has over 12 years of combined academic and industrial research experience in the fields of energy resources, coal seam gas reservoirs, reservoir geomechanics, carbon storage, and project management. In 2021, Reza graduated with a Ph.D. in petroleum engineering from The University of Adelaide. Before joining UQ Reza was a research fellow at the University of Adelaide. Reza also worked as a petroleum engineer and geomechanics team leader at the Research Institute of Petroleum Industry, National Iranian Oil Company for seven years. He has worked on multidisciplinary projects including field development plans, wellbore stability analysis, 1D MEM, CO2 storage, shale gas reservoir characterization, sand production, pore pressure/fracture pressure prediction, well log interpretation and reservoir characterization. In 2020, he was recognized as a Distinguished Global Talent in the field of energy and mining technology by the Department of Home Affairs.
